Irrigation Repair Cost Calculator
Pick what the system is doing, whether it runs on city water or a well, how many zones it has, and roughly how old it is, and this gives you the range we’d quote on the phone. It’s built from the same prices published on the pricing page, not from a lead form, and it doesn’t ask for an email.
One honest note before you use it: the diagnostic visit covers the trip and the first real look at the system, and most single-issue repairs are confirmed and priced during that same visit. What no calculator can see is a second failed part, or whether a “system won’t start” problem on a well-fed property is actually a pump issue rather than a sprinkler issue, which is exactly what the diagnostic visit is for.
What each answer changes
- Symptom picks the likely repair family. A broken head is the cheapest and most common fix. A valve or controller problem costs more but is still squarely sprinkler-side. A wet spot or bill spike could be a small lateral leak or a bigger mainline break, which is why that range is wider. The dry or brown patches page walks through the five-minute check if you want to narrow your symptom yourself first.
- Water source flags whether a whole-system problem might be a well/pump issue rather than a sprinkler issue. It doesn’t change the price of a confirmed sprinkler repair, but it changes what an honest diagnosis might conclude.
- Number of zones scales the likelihood of a second issue and the length of line runs a tech may need to trace, which is why a larger, acreage-scale system carries a small multiplier.
- Age reflects how likely an older system is to need more than a spot repair. Past twenty years, or on an unknown-age system, plan on a conversation about whether the controller or valve set is due for a fuller update rather than a one-part fix.
If the number looks reasonable, send it to the form with one click and the tech arrives already knowing what you saw. If your symptom points toward the pump or well side and you’re not sure, the irrigation pump and well-system troubleshooting page explains exactly how we draw that line, and what an honest referral looks like versus a sprinkler-side repair.
What will my irrigation repair cost?
Four questions. The range is built from the prices on our pricing page, so it's the range you'd hear on the phone before anyone comes out.
Every line is a range from the pricing page. If the system runs off a private well and the symptom points upstream of the sprinklers (pump won't start, whole system weak), the honest answer may be a referral to a well contractor, and the tech will say so before charging for a sprinkler-side repair that isn't the actual fix.
Send this estimate to the quote formAn estimate, not a quote. The firm number is given after the diagnostic visit, and it does not move after that.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these numbers come from?
The same tables on our pricing page: a $75 to $150 diagnostic visit, heads $15 to $50 per head, valves $150 to $350, controllers $100 to $250 repaired or $200 to $600 replaced, lines $100 to $600, a zone coverage fix $100 to $275, and rain sensors $100 to $250. The calculator adds the range that matches your symptom and adjusts for system size and age.
How accurate is it?
Close enough to budget with. The symptom tells us the likely repair most of the time, and the diagnostic visit is fixed. What it can't see is a second failed part, or whether a well-fed system's problem is actually on the pump side, which is exactly what the diagnostic visit confirms.
Do I have to give an email to see the result?
No. There's no gate and no signup. The range updates as you change the dropdowns, and sending it to the quote form is optional.
I picked the well/pump option. Why does it show $0 added?
Because if the diagnosis confirms the problem is on the pump or well side, that's not a sprinkler repair we charge for, it's an honest referral to a well contractor. The diagnostic visit fee still applies; the pump/well repair itself does not come from us.
